Weekly Roundup #7
Scorpio, The Ugly Energies of the Past Week, Astrological Generations, McDonalds and Nostalgia
Entree.
1.
Aries breaks things apart and leaves new possibilities its wake. Libra promises things and projects its possibilities forward into the future. Both attract the confidence of others.
//
Libras romanticise things. The term was practically invented for them.
2.
Neptune Pisces + Pluto Capricorn + Uranus Taurus era = this guy repeating "Self-control, self-reliance, self-worth, self-consciousness, self-respect, self-assurance...." out loud to himself while he listens to rap to help him work harder at his home office so he can buy a new watch because the TikTok PUA guru said it would help with Tinder dates.

Quoth @PilkedUp:
How do people do the LinkedIn-career-climb-present-a-good-outward-image thing and not kill themselves?
Persons of LinkedIn are the product of Capricorn placements, Aquarius placements, strong Saturn, weak Aries, weak Leo, and various other more abstruse causes. Cap & Aquarius are Saturnine Signs, which makes them consistent by others' standards. Aries & Leo aren't. Saturn is the mask, the suit; the Sun is the face, the individual.
4.
"Walkable cities" came up as a big thing when Mars entered Gemini - Mars is struggle, and in Gemini (Sign of the neighbourhood) for the sake of urban renewal. Expect to see tons of crazy urban renewal projects from 2025-2032 as Uranus transits Gemini! Also changes in personal and public transport, for better or for worse.
5.
The "Back to Nature/drop out of society and join a farm" movement is the product of Uranus Taurus and will soon be over, just three years more. But why not enjoy it and get the most out of it while you can? It's not invalid. Even if people are poseurs about it.
What’s next? A greater emphasis on community as Uranus enters Gemini and Pluto Aquarius in the mid-20s.
Main.
Scorpio
Scorpio is about having an enormous hideous deep well of horror inside you that you have to hide from everyone for the rest of your life, but it's not all that bad in practice. They have a deep certainty of support from invisible forces. They are in the world, but not of it.
Scorpio delves deeper and deeper into the abyss... it is transformed through crushing pressure. Conflict and stress make it stronger. It gets its hands dirty and then purges its accumulated filth. It knows how to purify and renew itself because the rot would consume it otherwise.
Scorpio is patience and subtlety without cowardice. It fights until it's crushed down to nothing, then becomes something new. It feeds on pain and trauma. It is eternally vigilant, but restrained. It sees life in black and white, but with a great respect for what's mysterious.
What Scorpio perceives, it judges decisively, and in what is mysterious, it's guided by a powerful intuition. It knows exactly what to do, exactly how to position itself to retain the fullest degree of personal freedom. This is why it conceals so much of itself from others.
A reader asks:
What do you think about mars in scorpio and aries??
Mars in Scorpio is really more subdued, it can create people who are apparently weak, but they've always got their eye on the ball in some way, and even if they get beaten down they keep coming back. Mars in Aries is more brash from the get-go, and anti-authoritarian. It fights for what’s right in the face of indifference or outright injustice, at best.
The Ugly Energies of the Past Week
…Causing argument, misunderstanding and confusion, were a product of the Mars + Mercury + Neptune t-square (the red triangle). Wrong ideas of each other & miscommunication leading to conflict. “Epistemic divorce.”
Things have calmed down since October 9th as Mercury separated over 5° from opposition to Neptune, but there's another little bump tonight as it moves into Libra and opposes Jupiter. This ends on the 12th, and from then to the 25th it's fairly smooth sailing for Mercury!
The current moment's fantasies & nightmares of world war are the consequence of Mars Gemini squaring Neptune Pisces: Mars is war, Pisces is global, and Neptune is the ideal - the game everyone thinks they're playing, whether or not they are.
The Mars-Neptune square is with us until December. Expect October 11/12 to be eventful as it goes exact while Mercury opposes Jupiter - communications breaking down and tensions peaking. Confusion. But diplomacy will be empowered in other respects as Sun and Venus trine Saturn.
October 19th looks like another important date as the Sun and Venus perfect their square to Capricorn - the mood wil become grim and pessimistic, and we will be forced to get harder and narrower. It will nonetheless be a romantic moment.
October 22rd, the Venus Cazimi occurs (Venus enters the heart of the Sun and is empowered) as the Sun moves from Libra to Scorpio. A time of great emotional profundity. Tense but productive conversations as Mercury trines Saturn and squares Pluto Capricorn.
After that the next peak of activity occurs November 5/6 as Venus, the Sun and Mercury get into a t-square with Saturn Aquarius and Uranus Taurus. Bigger t-square than the current moment, more planets involved. Whatever happens it will be big. All I can say.
So, is any of this cause for fear? Well, no. Firstly because there's no point in fear. You are only expected to do your best... to refrain from compromising on your conscience and doing what you know to be wrong. That is all anyone has to do. Secondly, I could be wrong about any of it. I make predictions to test my skills and learn from my mistakes. But my goodness the t-square of the past week was hard to miss. Good riddance!
Astrological Generations
The Baby Boomers are the Pluto Leo generation as Millennials are Pluto Scorpio; Leo is the Sign of youth, childhood and fresh-faced sincerity, hence the cult of youth they established (which lingers to this day): A faith that the ardor of the young can overcome anything.
With Neptune Libra, the Boomers are romantics and storytellers (for better and for worse), keen to hook into whatever narrative flatters their Leonine solipsism or else righteousness, as the case may be. Their obsession with the stories surrounding great figures is Libra + Leo.
The greatness, the magnificence, the world-bestriding self-importance of the Boomers, their endless gerontocratic cult of youth, is Leonine. The fact that their generation enjoyed great opportunity and freedom is also more subtly Leonine, as Leo is free to squander its gifts, and the stars describe the circumstances into which we’re born, the life and experiences and dilemmas we’ll have.
Leo is free to fail itself. At best, it is the self-assurance to assert your value in the face of complete indifference & the moral fiber to uphold your values even when the world is at your feet. At worst, it is permanently infantile self-absorption and naive, untempered faith.
Very roughly, Pluto in...
Cancer = Silent Generation (born 1912 - 1937)
Leo = Baby Boomers (1937 - 1956)
Virgo = Generation Jones (1956 - 1971)
Libra = GenX (1971 - 1984)
Scorpio = Millennials (1984 - 1995)
Sagittarius = Zoomers (1995 - 2008)
Capricorn = Alphas (2008 - 2024).
Between the Boomers and the Millennials, Neptune's Sign was generally two ahead of Pluto's - Libra for Boomers, Scorpio for Jonesers, Sagittarius for GenX, and Capricorn for Millennials. Then they split up. But most Zoomers have Neptune Aquarius, and most Alphas will have Neptune Pisces, just as the Pluto Aquarius gen will have Neptune Aries for the most part.
Generations are largely defined by Pluto, Neptune and Uranus, being the slowest moving planets. Uranus spends around 7 years in a Sign, Neptune 14 and Pluto up to 40. Over 95% of Millennials with Pluto in Scorpio also have Neptune in Capricorn, but then they split into two cohorts...
Early Millennials (1984 - 1989) have Pluto Scorpio, Neptune Capricorn and Uranus in Sagittarius. They embody the High 80s. Late Millennials (1989 - 1995) have Uranus in Capricorn, and they embody that alternately gothic and visionary era (as Uranus joined Neptune at the time... Outer Planetary Aspects are important, and a significant number of Jonesers possess the Uranus-Pluto conjunction which defined the cultural revolutions of the 60s.)
There are also Microgenerations, spans of a few months during which the Outer Planets are in rare combinations. To name a few born then:
Bryan Cranston, a.k.a. Walter White on TV’s Breaking Bad (Self-important Boomer with hardcore Neptune Scorpio).
Biggie Smalls & MF Doom (Earthy Jonesers with ironic Neptune Sagittarius and romantic Uranus Libra).
Timothée Chalamet (Ambiguously foreign Pluto Sag with the antique air of Uranus and Neptune Capricorn).
And we can get even deeper: Saturn spends ~2.5 years in a Sign, Jupiter ~1. Many school grades will share the exact same Saturn placement. It’s only a couple of steps down from that to the month, the day, the individual.
McDonald’s and Nostalgia
Psyop mindkill McDonald's toys came out with Mars Gemini square Neptune Pisces... weirdly off-kilter cartoons. Really quite fascinating material... Similar to another entity whose face has been obscured for the viewing public. What do they have in common?
Both these toys & the mushroom entity were born with Saturn Aquarius square Uranus Taurus, in the first case pointing to a kind of intentionally simulated (Aquarius) nostalgia (Taurus) and in the second to a hypnotically induced state of self-satisfied complacency. Lotus eater.
Quoth @Eyra88483096:
The face of ones inner child, demented by indulgence, telling you the joke isn't funny anymore but it's okay the void is here for you
Yes... Uranus Taurus (2017-2026) has created a lust for nostalgia throughout the population, while Neptune Pisces (2012-2026) makes it surreal. The transits which birthed those creepy McDonald's™ toys also gave us that lame Scooby Doo thing by Mindy Kaling - weirdly distorted nostalgia.
Have a great week everyone,
Owen
